Energy Levels : Behind the Scenes of The Neutronics Video Shoot for She’s Gotta Be Pt 2

Greetings Earth Beans

This is Supa Soul Brotha Del. coming at you Live and Funkdafied.

Waking up early is not the easiest thing for me to do. There are some people who have no problem waking up early and they really won’t relate to or sympathise with what I’m trying to get across here. The Neutronics however, don’t seem to be those kind of people. Sunday 5th September 2010 and it’s the first day of shooting for the promo video to the single “She’s Gotta Be”.

Call time is 9.00am and The Neutronics are HURTING. This is just not a good time to be getting musicians to do stuff, granted it’s great preparation for those early morning breakfast shows that we’re gonna have to be doing performances on in support of the album “This is Supa Soul Brotha Del.” but the general consensus among the band was IT’S WAY TOO EARLY as summed up quite nicely by our bass player George.

It’s not just George who feels like he could have done with a few more hours in the warmth and duvet covered comfort of his bed. Supa Soul Brotha Del. is feeling decidedly unenergetic. Now kids the Supa Soul Brotha does not condone the abuse of pharmaceutical or recreational drugs to get you through your day. As Whitney said ‘Crack is Wack’ but it might have perked him up just a little don’t ya think.

One person who didn’t seem to feel the effects of the early start to proceedings was Sitali who was an Honorary Supa Soul Sista for the day. This girl is eternally smiling and full of beans even at 9.00am on a Sunday morning. When asked how she was feeling her response was Supa Souley. I mean wow I can’t hardly string a sentence together at this time of the morning as has been evidenced in several clips but Sitali was feeling Supa Souley good on her.

Well what can one say……not a lot actually.

I’ll leave you with this clip of bass player George revealing some secret talents much to the amazement of Karis.

Behind the Scenes of The Neutronics Video Shoot for She’s Gotta Be Pt 1 - Setting Up:

Greetings Earthbeans

This is Supa Soul Brotha Del. coming at you live and funkdafied.

First and foremost I would like to welcome one and all to NeutronicTV a blog by The Neutronics for Supa Soul Fighters all over the known universe. We’ll be posting up videos and pictures of our adventures aboard The Spaceship and reports from the frontline of our battles with the Evil-Anti-Funk-Azoids.

Speaking of Evil-Anti-Funk-Azoids one must have got into my left eye yesterday because the polythene visual correction device that I wear to enhance my vision (commonly known on Earth as a soft contact lens) ripped inside my eye. I can assure you that this was a most uncomfortable experience which led to much eye watering, blinking, general soreness and ultimately one bloodshot eye and one discarded lens in several pieces.

Seeing as I have been away from the comforts of the Spaceship for a few days this has meant that I have basically been walking around for 2 days as a 1 eyed man. Which has led me to thinking, I might employ an eye-patch as by doing so I could actually1/2 my outgoings on corrective devices while been quite trendy and a la mode. 1 lens lasts a month, by purchasing and wearing an eye-patch and 1 lens I can double the lifespan of a pair. Do you follow me …… errrr hmmmm.

Cheap Bastard I hear you cry. Well maybe, but the price of rocket fuel is at an all time high and Spaceships are seriously expensive to maintain. If you don’t believe me ponder on this. Why have there been no Earth Beans on your Earth Moon for aeons. Seriously, just to get to the Spaceport at Jupiter to join the hyper-express-route can set you back 4 times the national GDP of the entire planet of Psychofunkadelia. Much like the British Government are cutting back on public services in the wake of the worldwide financial crisis and them having to bail out the banks so that the rich can continue to make shitloads of money and the poor can become even worse off, the ruling party of Psychofunkadelia is asking all Supa Soul Heroes to find as many ways to save a penny or two while out in the field so long as these measures are not detrimental to the war against the Evil-Anti-Funk-Azoids. So if you see me with an eye-patch you know why,  Niente Dinero.

Anyway moving swiftly on………

On Sunday 5th Sept 2010, the Spaceship descended upon Southwark park in Bermondsey, SE London. The reason for this landing was the first day of shooting for the promotional motion picture short for the song She’s Gotta Be, which is taken from the debut album by The Neutronics entitled This Is Supa Soul Brotha Del.

The album is due for release later this year. As is customary on Earth a music video is currently in production to help convince Earth Beans that their planet is worth saving from the Evil-Anti-Funk-Azoids and they should part with some of their hard earned cash to support the unselfish martyrs who ride bravely into battle against these musical foes.

As usual The Neutronics found much to amuse themselves with not for us the questions of Life, The Universe and Everything. No we were far more interested in more practical matters like, is it possible to plug a mic lead into the roots of a tree and make organic music and can electrical power be obtained from green grass…….

Other quandaries that came up as we were setting up were more sanitary based. Is it possible to dress oneself in a portaloo without falling into the murky blue stuff and is antibacterial sanitiser handwash preferable to some perfumed soap with added moisturizer,

Eventually after pondering these deep and meaningful questions The Neutronics were ready to get the camera rolling. As always Supa Soul Brotha Del. had a unique way of getting proceedings to begin ,‘Let’s Do This Like Buddhists’ he declared. Nobody ever found out whether he wanted to begin meditating or levitating but the Dalai Lama really likes his Welsh Guards jacket and wants one for Christmas even tho officially he doesn’t celebrate it he still appreciates receiving presents so long as the Made in China sticker has been removed.

In the words of Bugs Bunny ‘That’s All Folks”

Be sure to leave a comment and tune in next time for  more from NeutronicTV and more behind the scenes footage of the band.
